INTERVIEW WITH THE GIANT: ETHNOHISTORICAL NOTES ON THE NEPHILIM (c 2009) Judd H. Burton, $14.10-The book of Genesis tells us that "giants were in the earth in those days." Once great tribes of giants roamed the land, dominating humanity and usurping their resources. Great, towering, monstrous creatures born of the fallen angels and human females dominated humanity in our antique past.  Nephilim, Rephaim, Zamzummim, Annakim--their names echo through the ages.  Goliath, Og, Repha--the names of the most notorious giants survive.  In their wake they left evidence of giant culture, while leaving their own imprint on human society and technology.  But where did they go? Join historian and anthropologist Judd H. Burton as he reconstructs a history of the lost race of giants from the cultural relics they left behind.

THE CATCLAW AND THE PENTAGRAM (c) by Judd H. Burton--(Due in 2008)  Long ago, a world away from the one in which we live, our ancestors worshipped many gods.  Those gods were eventually forced from their shrines and grottos to the home, hearth, and the shadows.  And now, they have resurfaced from the mantles of yesteryear, to their new niches in modern society...including 21st century Texas.  This ethnography of an eclectic group of Texas Neopagans examines the adaptation and function mythology in a modern pagan community.

THE RELIGION OF NUMA, by Jesse Bendict Carter, $9.96--Carter's masterful survey of Roman religion is a tour de force.  The Romans were actively religious, with a vibrant and colorful pantheon of gods and goddesses.  A closer examination of their rites and gods reveals that they were not, however, a carbon copy of their Greek neighbors.  In the beginning, Roman gods were forces of nature, gods espoused by a people whose lives centered around farming and raising animals.  Rome's urbanization transformed its society and its religion.  Carter's acumen renders a picture of Roman spirituality revealing the religion as distinctive and to the modern reader, novel and intriguing.  Relish each page of this scholarly yet digestible treatment of Roman religion.

THE WITCH-CULT IN WESTERN EUROPE: A STUDY IN MALEFICOLOGY by Margaret A. Murray--Anthropologist Maragaret Murray stirred up great contraversy with the publication of this fascinating work in 1921.  She proposed that the witchcraft records of the Middle Ages and Witch Craze revealed a religion both mysterious and ancient.  Indeed, Murray posited that the cult pre-dated Christianity and was pan-European.  Her theories remain divisive and contraversial in both academic and popular venues, but you will enjoy this analysis of the components of Murray's witchcraft and the impact that its reputation and practice had on the Western world.
